South Africa Sevens coach Paul Treu has been forced to make two changes to the squad for the upcoming IRB Sevens World Series events in Hong Kong and Adelaide.
Thobela Mdaka and Marius Schoeman, who helped the Springboks reach the Cup final in the USA Sevens in San Diego, are both injured. Exciting prospects Wilton Pietersen and Robert Ebersohn come in to the team for the trip to the Far East and Australia.
South Africa currently lie second in this season's IRB Sevens standings, 32 points behind leaders New Zealand. They reached the Cup semi finals in Dubai and South Africa and won the Plate in Wellington, before losing out to New Zealand in the Cup final in San Diego.
In Hong Kong they are drawn in Pool C alongside Argentina, Russia and Japan. Australia, USA and Canada will be their opponents in the pool stage of the Adelaide Sevens.
