The hard-tackling Tongans can beat anyone on their day. Staunch supporters of the Hong Kong Sevens, Tonga played in the inaugural tournament in 1976 and have since made an impressive nine appearances in the Plate final, winning six times. But this year they are hungry for more as evidenced by their performance in Wellington where they reached the Cup quarterfinals only to lose to England 26-7. Tough and uncompromising, Tonga will be determined to repeat that and prove this is a breakthrough year for them.
