The reigning world champions at Sevens are a crowd favourite. Their surprise win at the World Cup in Dubai in 2009 has left Wales with a lot to live up to and they would be the first to admit they haven't lived up to that reputation in recent months. With a rich pedigree, the Welsh can be a thorn in the side of any team on the day, but a lack of consistency is the biggest problem. They won the Plate in Hong Kong in 2006 and 2007 and the Bowl in 2010. Canada knocked them out in the semi-finals of the Bowl last year and the men from the valleys will be hoping to be singing a different tune this time around. |
