Stadium Facilities

This information here has been compiled to help you make the most of your enjoyment of the Cathay Pacific/Credit Suisse First Boston Hong Kong Sevens 2006.

It is very important that all spectators strictly abide by the ground rules to ensure that this event is carried out without any untoward incidents to the weekend's proceedings.

Please note that alcoholic drinks will not be sold to persons under the age of 18. Any persons, under 18 found consuming alcohol will be removed from the stadium.

We would thus request parents to not send children to the bar to purchase drinks, as they will be refused service.

If you leave the stadium during the tournament, please make sure your get a re-entry pass as this is your only means of re-entry. Under no circumstances will anyone be allowed back in without a pass.

General
 

Traffic Arrangements and Car Parking

The roads surrounding the Stadium are likely to be very busy. We advise you to arrive early. One and a half hours before the events starts Caroline Road and Eastern Hospital Road becomes a one way traffic system. On completion of the event, both road will be closed for about half an hour. Time may vary depending on crowd congestion.

Due to lack of space there are no public car parking facilities on-site. The nearest public facilities is at the South China Athletic Association Building, and Sports House besides the Hong Kong Stadium.

Stadium Entrance

Spectators should enter the Stadium through the Stadium entrances. You will be asked to produce your event ticket at this point. One portion of your ticket will be retained by a member of staff.

Seating Arrangements

Your ticket allows you to enter any part of the stand, except the Patrons' and Sponsors' boxes, the Executive Suites, the Players' Enclosure and the Media Centre.

Food Outlets

There are kiosks in the stadium located on the lower and upper concourses serving hot food, tea and coffee and a variety of sandwiches and other refreshments. There are also eight vending stations providing snacks and sandwiches which will be sold to you in your seats.

Messages

Messages can be placed on the electronic scoreboard only through the HKRFU information booth at the entrance to the stadium. There will be a charge of $100 which will be donated to the HKRFU Charitable Trust Fund.

Beverage Service

The thirsty supporter has been adequately catered for with a number of drink outlets, which amply compensates for the ban on bringing can and bottles into the stadium. Heineken may be purchased by beaker of refillable two litre plastic jug. Alcohol cannot be consumed in the upper level stadium seating but is available at the sales counters or from vendors around the stadium. Alcohol cannot be consumed in the upper level stadium seating, but is available in the upper concourse, where direct telecast of games can be seen on TV sets at each bar.

Spectators in the lower level stadium seating can avail themselves of waitress service, which will be serving soft drinks and beer throughout the tournament weekend.

The Hong Kong Rugby Football Union is not responsible for determining beverage prices during this event. Any queries regarding the price of the drinks on sale should be addressed to the relevant concessionaires or the Stadium Management.

Event Merchandise

From time to time there may be event merchandise available for sale. Purpose built merchandise units are available on the Main and Upper Level and you are free to visit them.

Ladies and Gentleman's toilets are situated on all concourses.

Lost Children

Should you come across any lost children, please take them to the Customer Service Centre situated on the main concourse, east side, opposite block 102. A public announcement will be made and the children will be looked after until collected. However, please note the organizers do not provide a baby-minding service.

Out of Bounds

Please note that the pitch and surrounding area is out of bounds to the public at all times. Parents are requested to ensure that children do not run on to the pitch during the tournament. Anyone breaking this regulation will be removed from the stadium. The Players' Enclosure is also a restricted area.

No Smoking

With effect from 1 July 2002, a new house rule is introduced in the Hong Kong Stadium to designate all seated areas on spectator stands and corridor areas at Executive Suite Level as smoke-free areas. While the spectators will only be allowed to smoke at the concourse areas and on the plaza near the main entrance. Any person who breached the new house rule will be directed to leave the Stadium or subsequently be prosecuted under the Stadium Regulations.

IDD Telephone Booths

Public payphones that accept HK$1, HK$2, HK$5 coins are conveniently situated on the lower and upper concourse areas. IDD calls will be billed in HK$1 units and the charge for local calls will be HK$1. Phone cards are available.

Emergency Help

The St. John's Ambulance Brigade will be on duty throughout the weekend should their assistance be needed in the event of accident or illness.

Emergency Announcement

In the unlikely event of an emergency situation inside the stadium, a loud ringing tone will precede the emergency announcement. We would ask you to obey any instructions that follow.

Stewards

For your comfort and safety, stewards will be on duty throughout the stadium during the tournament. You are requested to adhere to their instructions at all times.

Departure

On your departure from the stadium, please use the exits indicated to you by the stewards. A free Citybus service is available to transport you to Admiralty MTR Station. Please do not disturb the local neighourhood as you depart.

ATM

ATM cash facilities are available inside the Stadium during the event. The ATMs are located on the lower concourse, at the northern end of the Stadium.

Executive Suite
 

Suite Location

As you enter the Stadium you will see that it's split in two. The East side is to your left and the West side on your right. Executive Suite numbers 1-28 are on the East side and numbers 29-50 are on the West side. The suites are situated on the Executive Level.

Accessing Your Suite

You may access your suite via escalator. These are clearly marked when you enter the Stadium. Upon arrival at the Executive Level you will be greeted by staff specially dedicated to this area. You will have to present your Pass before you enter. A "Help Point" is conveniently located near the entrance. All suites are clearly marked with a number and name of the suite holder. If you are unsure as to your suite location, please ask at the Help Point.

Help Point

The Executive Suite Help Points are staffed during the event. Should you wish to leave a message for a colleague or guest then please telephone (852) 2895 7895 Ext. 1160 for suites 1-28 and Ext. 1034 for suites 29-50. The staff will endeavour to pass the message on your behalf.

Inside your Suite

You will find a lounge area together with a private bathroom and kitchenette. The suite is fully air-conditioned. Your viewing seats are directly outside the suite facing the playing area. The suite also has a direct telephone line. To contact the Help Point from inside your suite please call the respective extension (1160 or 1034).

Your Pass

You should retain your Pass at all times. This will enable you to leave and enter the Executive Level at will. Failure to produce your Pass may result in some delay for you.
